*1 – Many companies require a 3 year contract, a credit check, and you to agree that they are not liable for any reason! These contracts do nothing to protect you and are meant to do nothing but entrap you into using there service long term! Beware of auto renew clauses in contracts. Some contracts renew for a full year at a time! This is the #1 reason I personally refer SimpliSafe to my customers!
*2 – Many alarm monitoring companies only monitor and do not manufacture there alarm. They make money off the monthly fees and you staying with them long term! This is one of the top complaints online! Companies that don’t manufacture there own alarm system, give a very short warranty on the systems and parts they install!

This can add up quickly and still costs you additional every month your system is active. This is a scam that many monitoring companies play! They monitor a system, not individual sensors! The extra charges imply that they are monitoring sensor, but they aren’t!
*6 – If you miss the cancellation period you are forced to pay for an additional year! There are thousands of complaints online about the Protect America auto renew policy! Policy must be canceled via certified mail or you may regret it! The minimum yearly cost for Protect America is about $360! There are 10,000 complaints online about this type of contract renewal clause!
